Here's my boxwood after an initial hard pruning from nursery stock I picked up last winter.
In my initial cuts to find a proper trunkline, I created a large scar near the base. I think this is unlikely to ever heal completely. I'm tempted to carve it into something more gnarly but I haven't found the proper examples to inspire it and I don't trust my carving skills just yet. Any advice on how to handle it?

I’ve had one of these for a couple years and I’m growing inclined to just stick it into the ground. It was $4 at lowes in 1023.

Yeah, unlikely to ever heal a scar that big, best idea would be to carve a nice hollow area there.
