For the sake of keeping things short, I was not able to care for these but after some discussion with the landlord, I may now do so because I live nearby. They hold great sentimental value for me, and as much as I want to, transporting them wouldn't be viable even if they were healthy. As for me I am new to gardening completely so any advice here would be majorly appreciated! I don't even know what species they are 🙁 There are two areas these reside in: Adjacent to two fences and the other is by a garage. First three pictures are the former and the last two are the latter. I did as much research as I could but without knowing what kind they are I don't know where to start…

These are not orchids, maybe some type of lily
According to google lens these are Canna lily flowers, good luck taking care of them they’re beautiful
Canna lilies. They’re pretty chill. Just keep them watered. Fertilize in spring if you want. My neighbor’s sends pups into my yard and I literally don’t water them or anything. They’re also bulbs so if you ever dig them up and they freak out and die, they can come back
Not Orchids,_Canna indica_ (Indian Canna / Canna Lillies).
Quite difficult to kill, will die back once a year but will resprout from roots. As long as you don’t forget to water it for 6 months, they’ll live.
Maybe put them in a nice pot with some good soil, when it does die off you will always have the bulbs to grow them again. They are beautiful, and such a lovely way to remember your Gran 🫶
who’s gonna tell him….
Cana lilies are easy care 🙂
Your chances of succeeding to dig these up and move them is higher than orchids fortunately.
They’re lovely! And I’m very sorry for your loss. All the best caring for this sweet plant!
