My spontaneous compost pile potato plants are bigger than anything in my garden.


These planted themselves from some super gross potatoes I threw into the pile.

If there's any potatoes at the roots, would they be edible??

    These volunteers are almost certainly clones of the potatoes you bought at the store.

    I’d eat them. Just be careful of green skins on potatoes.

    They should be edible as long as you haven’t been composting anything questionable like raw meat or manure recently. If thats just veggie scraps and yard waste enjoy your home grown potatoes.
