What is left of my ficus I got from Albertsons. It started dropping leaves as soon as I brought it home. I stuck this is water because of the root ball… should I leave in water, plant, or just throw it away? I'm generally good with plants but I'm at a loss with this one 😪

I’m no expert but as long as the roots have no squishy feeling to them like rot! It should possibly grow but maybe also just leave it in water see if new roots eventually pop up is my opinion(I’m a experimentalist)but you can also wait for better experts lol

Maybe. Put it in a bright window and only the roots in water.

Heating mats help a lot while rehabilitating plants back to health and for cuttings to grow roots quickly. If possible, get one (you can find many if you google heat mat for seedlings) and put your plant in a small glass of water on the heat mat. Give it light as well and top up water everyday, and change water if it looks yucky.

I would try putting the root ball end in some perlite, water and place near a bright window. Plants will surprise you sometimes.
