i bought this monstera a few weeks ago on reduced as it was dying at the garden centre.
i water it once every week, with the exception of if the soil is still moist at the top i’ll leave it slightly longer.
the plant is usually in indirect light.
i’ve managed to revive it so that it’s starting to grow a few new leaves however it seems to be pretty stuck and doesn’t do alot else.
any advice?

What else is it supposed to do? It’s growing so it is getting bigger
There’s a new leaf right there what are you talking about LOL
im not sure what else they typically do other than grow a few leaves
I would change out the soil to something chunkier, a good mix of perlite, orchid bark, coconut coir and regular soil. Your watering habits are good! If you want the leaves to size up and fenestrate its gonna need a LOT more light. It can survive in indirect light but these babies grow into their “monster” namesake once they get some direct rays
This is a small form monstera “borsigana” if you want the scientific name. It’s a VINING plant. It’s not a climber and they do not get as big as their large form “deliciosa” counterparts that are climbers.
It just needs more light – try positioning in front of a east / west / south window
if you mean more fenestrations, you need much more light. that plant is etiolated
more light, bigger pot
Don’t tie the petioles to the pole, only the stem and in general get something sturdier than a bamboo stick. Willing to bet the soil isn’t chunky enough either. The leaves will also start bending towards the windows eventually.
I think the indirect light is the issue. Monsteras do wonderfully in high light – this is what mine looked like when it wasnt getting enough light.
I’m not an expert on these by any means – do they like to be root-bound? Asking because if not, maybe a bigger pot would help.
You’re expecting a plant to just explode in size after a couple weeks? You need to lower your expectations significantly.
