Big changes are happening in the garden! 🌱 Today kicks off a massive demo project as we finally say goodbye to the world’s worst plastic shed (my one true Costco regret), remove grass, and start reimagining the entire lower garden.

The cut flower garden is getting a major reinvention, pathways are being spray-painted and mapped, and we’re laying the groundwork for a brand-new shed and work studio. This is the beginning of a complete garden transformation, and I’m so excited to bring you along for the journey.

✨ In this video you’ll see:
• Shed demo (good riddance!)
• Grass removal + pathway outlines
• Plans for a new garden shed & creative studio
• Reinventing the cut flower garden
• The design vision for a flowing, simplified space

This is only Day 1 — and the best is yet to come. 🌸

Let’s dig in! 🪏

  1. I’m just across the 520 bridge from you, so I take inspiration from your choices. Looking forward to seeing this take shape.😊

  2. I know that shed was a nightmare for you but it would be godsend for me. I live in a town house with no garage. I have every thing in my attached utility shed and a Keter box on my deck and front porch. Someone out there would love that shed. I hope it finds a good home. I love the project you are doing.

  3. How exciting!!! I’m so happy for you to be doing something for yourself! And for us to watch the process!! You are so amazingly talented, I am picturing something pretty darn special in the end!! The front is beautiful, and your gardens for the north west flower are garden shows have been stunning!!! Yayyy, this is going to be fun!!

  4. Big moves!! I’m so looking forward to how your reimagined cut flower garden evolves. Your excitement is palpable – it’s clear the change is needed and a much better fit for you & your family ❤
I hope you take us along for designing and organizing your garden studio! (Much more than a typical ‘shed’). My garden tool organization and workspace is such a hot mess – I would love to see what solutions you come up with for your space.
Thank you for the lovely video as always!

  5. Do you think you will add a few more taxus hicksii to the side chain fence you share with your neighbor. The lush green would be beautiful as you build your paths. So excited to see this project and get ideas and tips for my yard. Thanks for taking us along. ~ Di

  6. Kate, holy moly big changes but I agree…once you started that back border and saw how beautiful it is developing….who needs silly rows of cut flowers….you can have all the flowers you want and some sneakey squirrel pathways. So exciting

  7. Kate, you should check out Danielle from North Lawn Flower Farm. She plants her cut flowers in garden beds and it is gorgeous!

  8. Kate, this is going to be such an awesome transition! Thank you for taking us along on the process!

  9. When you went into that shed bare handed… during spider season…😅 I was thinking “ girl put some gloves on!” Brave woman. Bet that felt great felt great that out. Looking forward to the transformation. 😊

  10. I am so happy for you being able to have your dream garden! It will be a beautiful living portfolio to show potential clients! Hooray for you! ❤

  11. At the end, when the shed was coming down, I didn't get any volume at all. Must just be me? Hmmmm Well, it was satisfying watching it, and such a great thing to be doing, and can't wait to see how you change it up Kate! thank you! UPDATE: LOLL I went back and had accidently pushed the no volume in my little, tiny tab at the top. Whew, went back and rewatched the end. Much better! LOLLLL

  12. Great. High time you worked on your own space ! Cut flower gardens are a lot of work – only useful to flower farmers who are selling their flowers.

  13. OMG this is so very cool. I can’t see your vision right now but I’ll stay tuned for sure to see your joy come to life!
