Hi growers,
I’m running a DWC system and currently facing a root recovery situation. The plants are showing new white roots, but I still have some dead/brown root matter stuck in the netpot area, between the hydroton.

I have access to both enzymes (similar to Cannazym/Sensizym) and Bacillus products (similar to Hydroguard).
My main concern:
• If I add enzymes, they will break down the dead roots into organic matter.
• If I only add Bacillus, they may colonize but the dead matter might stay there too long.

👉 What is the best protocol to combine enzymes + Bacillus in DWC?
• Should enzymes be applied first, then Hydroguard later?
• How many hours apart?
• Do I need to replace the bucket solution after enzymes before adding Hydroguard, or can I run both together?

Any experience or tested schedules would be very helpful. I’m trying to avoid root rot/biofilm returning while encouraging the white roots to expand.

Thanks in advance! 🌱

You’re tripping over nothing. HOCl would solve any sterility problems you might have quick. You have new white roots so that’s good. You can add bennes after sterilizing with a water change and 1-2ml per gallon of 0.056% HOCl.
If this is a cannabis grow, you’ll get better info at r/dwc r/dwc_cannabis r/hydro
