It’s still the summer holidays, but many people are already starting to think about the festive season. And for those parents with little ones the main event to try and get into their busy Christmas calendar is a visit with Santa

Dobbies’ garden centre in Thornbury has already announced its festive events guide – which kicks off with Santa’s arrival on Sunday, November 23. The event at the store in Milbury Heath includes seasonal storytelling and community performances. It is free to attend but pre-booking is recommended.

If you miss Santa on that day don’t worry as Santa’s Grotto will be setting up at the Thornbury store from November 23 until Christmas Eve. This year’s grotto has a North Pole adventure theme and will see the store transformed into a magical, ice-inspired world.

Tickets for the Grotto start at £14 per child and there are Quiet Grotto sessions available on Friday, December 5, offering a more relaxed, inclusive experience for children with additional needs.

The garden centre also has a number of other festive events planned including a Santa’s Breakfast, a charity shopping night, as well as activities for adults including wreath making. Tickets for all the festive events are on sale now at www.dobbies.com/events.
