Whats this thing growing out of the bottom of my new prop and can i do anything to get rid of the stem at the bottom?
That stem is probably a foot long and makes re potting hard. Km constantly having to pot it in pots too large because of it. I got the propagation from a friend with it.
Did you cut a monstera and then use the aerial root like a stem?
Also that’s an aerial root growing out of the back.

thats an arial root, if I were you I would just pop it in a glass of water for a few weeks until it grows proper roots then you can pot it 🙂

I don’t think I have ever seen an aerial root hold up an entire plant before. Well damn bravo to your friend for achieving this, but I can see how it’s inconvenient OP. You could wrap cellophane around the newest one growing with dirt/moss inside of it to allow that one to grow roots and then give it a few weeks until it’s nice and mature then repot with the new root being the base.
Edit: quick edit, about the method I mentioned you HAVE to watch out that the root doesn’t grow outside the plastic wrap. I’ve done this method a few times prior to propagating and came back three or four times to the root popping out the plastic 😂

Pull the entire thing our, cut the „stem“ and place for a few weeks in water. Your aerial root will form secondary and tertiary roots once it got those replant in soil.

You rooted an aerial root, the same thing you’re asking about.

That looked totally normal to you? Like, “I’ve seen many plants that look like that,” normal?
Pinkgryphon
That is called a “root.” There should be a learner’s permit for growing plants.

I’m lost for words, like mouth opening and closing and nothing coming out.
If you cut the aerial root in the pot with about 6 inches left on the plant you could just stick both Ariel roots in the soil and it will grow roots just fine.just leave all of the green stem sitting on top of the soil.

You could Bonsai this thing and it’s be the coolest Monstera ever.
This looks wild 😂 Both are aerial roots as others have said. I would take the plant out of this huge a** pot, cut the aerial root that’s currectly holding up the plant to size and repot it into a smaller pot. I painted how I’d do it to better explain because currently the plant is laying on it’s side since aerial roots grow out of the back. The orange arrow is “stick in in the soil this way” and the pink line is supposed to be the top layer of soil. It might not be stable this way but it’s gonna be when it’s more grown 🙂

I wouldn’t mess with it. Keep it going maybe add a support until more roots shoot out and guide them to the soil. I’m doing that same thing to a Burle Marx flame to give it a “floating look” where it’s seemingly sitting on top of its roots. Similar to attached photo (not mine)

I’d love this so much 😆
Bury that thing about 6 inches deeper.
