Hi! I was gifted this plant right before a move, and I'm honestly not even sure what it is, as I wasn't given any care instructions along with it. I've had it for about two weeks and have been trying my best to give it at least a couple hours of somewhat direct sun a day and a small amount of water daily. It started getting droopy a few days in, and I worried that I might be overwatering it. But after skipping a day, it just looked worse, so I'm really not sure how to help it! Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Looks like a Lilly and she looks thirsty. Give her a good watering once a week and NOT in small daily increments as that can lead to root rot.
That’s a peace lily, and hoooo boy are they dramatic. You’ll always know if you’re doing something wrong. They like bright indirect light (no direct sunlight, it’ll burn the poor guy) and moist, not wet, soil and they do really well at average American home room temperatures of 60-80 degrees. Don’t water it every day, but water it thoroughly (until the soil is wet through but not soaking) whenever the top inch of soil is dry. This will allow the plant to dry out enough between waterings so the roots don’t rot while still giving it enough water to survive.
Do not give your peace lily water once a week unless she’s thirsty. You’ve experienced the DRAMA of peace lilies, they do this every time they need water and usually perk back up within a few hours. You want to learn how the soil feels when it just starts to wilt and try to catch it right before then in the future.
Peace lilies prefer no drafts and bright indirect sunlight.
Peace lily! Just as the other commenter said, one good water a week will suffice. Peace lilies are actually really cool because they tell you when they need watered. Hopefully once this one dries out it’ll perk back up, and then you can wait until it starts to look a little wilty again. That’s when it’ll need watered.
Does this pot have drainage holes? If not, you may need to tilt this guy over and pour out any excess water sitting at the bottom
Peace lily. They droop like that when thirsty. Mine thrives on filtered water from our RO system!
Water it
PEACE LILY
Drama queens! Needs a good watering.
These Peace Lilies are the most histrionic plants. Just water her and give her a few hours. If she doesn’t perk up fully give her a bit more water and she should be good.
Mine looks exactly like this. Thanks for posting! Now I know what to do because the plant app said I was overwatering it.
I find myself jealous of your thirsty plant.
I can’t have lilies because of our cats. I got lucky with training them not to munch on my pothos plants, but I wouldn’t be able to do that with any kind of lily.
Enjoy her beauty when she’s rehydrated, and blow her some kisses for me!
Poor thing is just thirsty. She’ll bounce right back though. I forgot I out a peace lily in our small bathroom for a party for 3 months! Cut off the dead, gave her lots of light and fresh water and she’s as grand as ever.
I would consider cutting the flowers to move focus on growth, also it’s better to have a drainage layer or holes and water it from the bottom to avoid root rot.
But maybe it’s only drama because it’s a new place, these plants are hyper dramatic.
She’s a DRAMAAAAA QUEEEENN!!!!!
peace lily
It’s a peace lily. It’s a very thirsty plant and will let you know when it’s thirsty by being limp like that.
WATER, fill a bucket and let her drink up, she’ll be back to perky in no time 👍🏽😊
I’ve got a massive peace lily that I bottom feed every few days when she starts to droop. Mix a bit of plant food with the water every now again and she perks right up!
Container too small and they love a bucket of water a day! Very needy.
I’m the “plant person” in my friend group. I’ve gotten like 4 of these things as gifts for one occasion or another and I hate them. They look ok when they’re happy but IMHO they’re an unimpressive plant with fake-looking flowers and this wilting act is really annoying.
That’s a peace lily. They’re dramatic. Good luck.
It’s either under watered or overwatered. Also if it’s near a fan it will try to die.
Water. Watch the fireworks
Omg just water it
Mine needs water every other day, I watch the temperature, humidity and sun she gets, she’s thriving but she absolutely needs water constantly
Don’t worry-peace lilies are drama queens, and they usually bounce back quickly once their needs are met.
