It also comes in yellow and light pink, but I don’t have a picture.

I hope you like pruning.

That’s bougainvillea and I love them, too. But they have huge thorns, just FYI. It needs frequent pruning if you don’t have a big yard for it to overflow into, and the thorns make pruning difficult, to say the least lol

We called that plant “Trinitaria” in Spanish 🥰 it’s beautiful and very common in my city.

Bougainvillea …

It isn’t hardy but I see it sold at Lowe ‘s in Missouri. So maybe people are treating it like an annual here or taking it in a sun room in winter.

Bougainvillea needs a warm climate to thrive. It is gorgeous if you live in south Florida, Texas, Arizona or California….

Long time gardener here who for a short time lived in California and fell in love with Bougainvillea. Unfortunately I haven’t lived a zone where it would grow for 40 uears.

We have two and they need to be maintained almost on a weekly basis because they grow like weeds!!
If you don’t like the wild, feral plant look you are going to be out there quite often keeping madusa looking vines cut back. Sometimes I’m grooming every few days because they are in the front and they are just so chaotic!
It makes the yard look unkempt and I wish I didn’t have them.
The THORNS ARE UNFORGIVING 😫

Holy crap don’t plant it. It can grow out of control pretty quickly and their thorns are HELL. Keep them in big pots! They stunning!

People are saying it comes in Red, Creamy White and Yellow.
I was hoping for a nice Plaid.

Perfect for outside of a teenager’s bedroom window 😂

Not only the thorns are bad but the colorful leaves (not actually flowers the leaves turn color) they get on everything everywhere (including your nieghbors) and when you walk on them they stain everything including your carpets if you are not careful.
