Zone 5B. Eastern Plains of Colorado (East of Denver). New lawn in a single day. I replaced the last of my Kentucky Bluegrass with Turf Type Fall Fescue. Yesterday I had the lot scraped in the front yard. The backyard was already sodded with fescue in August of 2021. I laid the new sod this morning. It took me about 6 hrs and 15 minutes. A landscaping company scraped everything off and I had 3/4" mountain granite brought in and several yards of planters mix to promote the sod. I also dropped some fertilizer before I laid the sod. I was so over the KBG. My backyard TTTF stays dark all summer long with modest watering. The KBG was too water intensive and never stayed green all summer. I've had enough and I never want to ever see Kentucky Bluegrass again.

KBG is a bitch for water, but feels pretty good on the toes.
With stone around the edges, I think gonna get a lot of burn up on the edges
My tttf has been dying in the heat and drought and not filling in. I have a sprinkler system and it means nothing to the tttf. I’m specifically adding kbg this fall for some self repair properties. Good luck!
