Middle are prickly pear fruit (from the opuntia cactus). You cut them open and scoop out the inside. Don’t eat the skin unless you fancy a tongue full of tiny hair-like needles. I’d eat those up soon, too, as they look like they are a bit overripe.

The others are all types of pepper, most likely all chilli peppers. Bottom right looks like jalapeno; not sure on the rest.

They are hot that’s what they are

You can probably have the most fun with that prickly pear by soaking it in a fifth of vodka, with sugar or agave syrup to taste. Peel it, smoosh the pulp up, seeds and all, jam it in a bottle, and steep in vodka for at least 3 weeks, shaking it a bit every few days. Strain, add sweetner and rebottle. It will be a brilliant violet color.

Poblanos peppers, Habanero peppers, banana peppers and prickly pear aka cactus fruit
Edit: Those are cubanelles (top right,)Aji dulce is same size as a Habanero just rounder.

5 looks like our Hungarian wax pepper a little bit hot but not too bad

The long yellow ones are my favorites! I can only tell banana peppers and Hungarian wax peppers apart by taste, but no matter which kind, I like to slice them into rings and do a quick pickle with vinegar, water, a couple big shakes of salt, and some peppercorns or a garlic clove. So delicious on sandwiches and pizza.

Poblano, cubanelle, cacti, banana pepper/hot wax, jalapeno

    1) Poblano pepper
    2) Cubanelle pepper
    3) Prickly pear
    4) Banana pepper
    5) Jalapeño

My best guesses. 1 and 5 are spicy, 4 may be spicy – there are hot and sweet banana pepper varieties.

Don’t touch prickly pears without gloves!

Poblanos top left pic 1 and serrano pepper in pic 6. Fun fact, if you let serranos ripen, they turn bright red, and its what is used to make sriacha sauce. My gf makes huge batches, its tasty.

Poblanos are great in elk and venison ground for tacos
