Miah’s the best!! I pray you have a safe, fun filled, excitement packed vacation!!! May God surround you and keep you on this adventure!! I look forward to your return and your sharing of what most will only dream of.❤

  2. We live up in zone 7a/7b and tarragon refuses to die here. My mom has a plant that is immortal. she neglects the heck out of it and it lives lol.

  3. Tarragon over winters up here in zone 5 Canada so it will be good for you. Wow the herb garden has gotten so fun in just one season. Amazing. Have the bestest trip. Can't wait to hear and see about it when you get home and have a rest. Love the new cut! Very flattering on you!

  4. Jess have a wonderful trip over here to the UK. I am very south in the UK but my daughter is up in Scotland. Wishing you and your friends make wonderful memories. I look forward to perhaps seeing some of it in a future video. xx

  5. I’m loving your herb and tea garden. I did notice the little bed in the corner was still empty. It’s funny I was thinking of you and this little garden last evening when I was sitting on the beach and admiring the wild rosa rugosas, wondering if you ever put one in that corner raised bed. Now I know. Have a wonderful trip to Scotland, I hope it’s an amazing adventure.

  6. Hey Jess, hope you have the best time in Scotland. I live in the Scottish highlands.. I look forward to watching your trip! x

  7. Hi Jess, the herb garden looks lovely! We are at the end of a drought and my herbs in my in ground garden have all gone to seed! I do think that blue butterfly pea plant is glorious and look forward to trying it next Spring! My first greenstalk is doing great with lettuces flowers and a a few herbs that are hanging in there and have been enjoying them for the last month or so when everything else died out! I too have Scotland and other places in the UK on my bucket list and found a book in a thrift store called “Long Walks in Scotland” though I know they are more like multi day hikes I still fantasize about it! I look forward to seeing it through your lens! Have a truly blessed time and Leis na beannachdan! 🇬🇧

  8. An eagle was flying around my yard one day and I was like “Marshall?” And my cat softly meows from the bush. “GET OUTTA HERE EAGLE YOU CANT HAVE MY CAT!!!” Eagle flies away “I know that’s right” true story, bro! Lol.

  9. French tarragon is perennial, but it’s like sheep. It seems to be good at finding was to unalive itself. I have successfully overwintered it outside in my zone 6a garden. It does seem to overwinter better on the south side of my house, so I’m fairly confident that it will survive your normal winter temperatures. I lost my first plant to winter flooding rather than cold temperatures. We had an unusually warm, wet winter a few years ago and my garden was under water for much of the season. French tarragon hates wet feet! Since yours is in a raised bed, it should be happy.

  10. Lots of pictures from Scotland, please! That was my dream trip for years as well. Hope you have the most wonderful time!!!

  11. My first trip abroad was to Scotland for a summer. It was so beautiful and amazing. You will love it so much Jess! So happy for you!! 👍🙏🌷🌸🌿

  12. I definitely noticed that the butterflies were later than usual. Your garden is lush and beautiful. I am in Kansas and we have definitely had a wetter than normal summer. It’s strange to see everything all still green in late August! 💕🌻

  13. That's so cool Jess! I hope you have an awesome trip. Can't wait to see pics and videos ☺

  14. Scotland was supposed to be our honeymoon sometime after we got married. Well… this year will make 27 years, and we haven’t been yet. Maybe one day. Have a great time, Jess. That Miah is a keeper for sure!💕

  15. Hello from the north west UK, not too far from Scotland! The advice others have given about layering and bringing waterproofs is good. As a Southerner, you may find it quite chilly. Where I am it was 20C/68F today, which was a few degrees warmer than average for August… and it tends to be cooler still in Scotland! I moved here from California nearly 7 years ago and am used to it now, but it took a minute!

I haven’t been too many places in Scotland, just Edinburgh, Glasgow, St Andrews, and the Isle of Arran. All wonderful, and all different. When I told my Glaswegian friend I’d be going there for the first time (but had been to Edinburgh) and asked his advice, he replied “Glasgow is a city, whereas Edinburgh is a Scottish City,” and I found out what he meant. Glasgow is much less touristy but also a gem if you know where to look. The curries were amazing (chicken tikka masala was invented in Glasgow). As a foodie, you should try a haggis supper!

One thing to note is that you can expect some mutual fun with accents and understanding. Some of the most inscrutable English I’ve ever heard was Scottish accented, and Brits seem to often have difficulty with Southern US accents. It can be a great ice breaker, and the Scots will be disarmed by a little self-deprecating humour delivered with your usual authenticity.

All of this is to say: I hope you have a wonderful time!

  16. Grew up with the bagpipes, ancestry Scotland, last name Scott, can't wait to see your travels. First time overseas went to Spain, then lived in Africa for a year, bringing my 6 month old baby, who travelled to Scotland by herself after university, she's 43 now. Blew my mind, like cultural shock, I was 25 though. Lost weight. I think Scottish food, not so different? You'll tell us, I'm excited for you, Independent time for long time Mom's, is regenerating! We can all use that boost, your lucky, got a wonderful husband and Dad for the kids!

  17. Goodness, your herb garden is thriving. It loves that space and it’s functional and beautiful! I hope you have a wonderful wonderful time on your trip to Scotland. God blessings. ❤️✝️🙏

  18. I am 6 generation from Beith Scotland, and I had a chance to go. We spent 10 days and are right it is the trip of a lifetime. My one advice is don't go to American named restaurants, it won't taste the same. We flew into Glascow, and did bed and breakfast, was a blast. Made it to Beith and was able to find relatives in the cemetery there and found the old farmstead that was in the family. Clan Ferguson! Have a good time and enjoy yourself you deserve it. Good Job Jeremiah!!!
