Summer in Massachusetts may be all about the hydrangeas, but as August continues, it is almost the season for another popular summer flower — sunflowers.

For those who want to bring the beautiful golden blooms home, luckily Massachusetts has plenty of farms that offer pick-your-own services for sunflowers throughout August and September.

Here are five places where you can pick your own sunflowers in Massachusetts.

Tony Andrews Farm

Tony Andrews Farm in Falmouth grows several fruits and vegetables visitors can pick throughout the spring, summer and fall. Sunflowers and corn are in season in August.

When: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday and Monday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., according to the farm’s Facebook page

Where: 394 Old Meeting House Road, Falmouth

Cape Cod Organic Farm

Cape Cod Organic Farm in Barnstable has a pick-your-own bouquet option. In addition to sunflowers, the farm has at least 20 varieties of flowers, including echinacea, marigolds, zinnia and cosmos. The farm also grows and installs Cape American beach grass.

Where: 3675 Main St. (Route 6A), Barnstable

When: Open daily, 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Cider Hill Farm

Cider Hill Farm in Amesbury has a beautiful summer flower cutting garden filled with flowers like zinnias, snapdragons, cosmos, marigolds, dahlias and coneflowers in addition to sunflowers. Entry to the flower garden costs $16, which includes one jar to fill with flowers. Access to the sunflower field for pictures only costs $6 per person. Tickets can be bought online or in person.

Along with cut-your-own services, Cider Hill Farm has a farm store, food concessions, a hard cider bar and plenty of activities for children.

When: Garden hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday from mid-July through late September or mid-October, depending on the forecast.

Where: 45 Fern Ave., Amesbury

Located in Sharon, Ward’s Berry Farm has large sunflower fields with two purposes — picking and navigating. Regular sunflower picking costs $12 for five stems, with shears available for $10. The farm also has a variety of other plants, fruits and vegetables you can pick yourself including lavender, tomatoes, peppers, carrots, edamame and raspberries.

If you’re more interested in looking at the sunflowers than picking them, head to the farm’s Sunflower Maze, a sea of golden blooms stretching over an acre of land. For $10 per person, you can wander the maze, view the flowers from above at a special lookout point, learn sunflower facts and take pictures in one of the maze’s many hidden rooms, stocked full of props for the perfect photo-op.

Parlee Farms

Parlee Farms in Tyngsboro has a two-acre flower field that bursts with colorful sunflowers in the early fall, alongside zinnias, dahlias, gladiolus and over 20 fillers. Along with flowers, guests can pick fruits like strawberries, blueberries, cherries or peaches, as well as enjoy a snack from the farmstand, bakery or country kitchen.

Entry to the flower picking field at Parlee costs $3 per person over the age of 5. From there, all flowers cost $12.95 per pound, with mixing allowed.

When: Sunflower picking will likely open in early September. The cut-your-own flower field is currently open from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. every day except Monday.

The Garden at Elm Bank is a 36-acre garden with many beautiful plants, flowers, trees and walking trails, all maintained by the Massachusetts Horticultural Society.

While the garden’s annual Sunflower Spectacular ended on Aug. 20, the 1.3 acre area filled with thousands of sunflowers will remain open for picking through Sunday, Aug. 24. Admission costs $14 for adults or $5 for children, with sunflowers costing $1 per stem.

When: 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Thursday or 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday through Sunday. Sunflower picking is open now through Aug. 24.

Where: Elm Bank Reservation, 900 Washington St., Wellesley
