As you can see the leaves are curling in pretty severely, which to me indicated underwatering. I’ve been soaking it more often since I noticed, but it hasn’t bounced back at all and has only gotten worse with browning leaves. The base doesn’t seem squishy to me, but could the curling leaves also come from rotting? The shiny appearance and brown spots on the base have been there since I got it 5 months ago (last pic shows plant back then for comparison). A couple leaves from the middle pulled out pretty easily when I tested which makes me worried. I always dry it out hanging upside down with good airflow, so I’m not sure how rot could happen. It has two small pups growing, if it is rot and the plant is a goner what will happen to them? Would they survive attached to the dying plant or should I separate since the rot could spread?

Just looks thirsty AF to me. When they get like this I do overnight soaks. Submerge it in water before bed and pull it in the morning. That way you get a full 8 hour soak and have a full day of light to dry out again.
If it does have rot it doesn’t look far enough gone that you can’t save the pups. Anytime you find core rot, if you can stop the rot from spreading, the plant will usually give off pups. You’ve already got pups started, so it would just start putting all its energy into growing them instead of itself.
Very dehydrated. This one needs at least a few hours of soaking. I would do overnight. You’ll be amazed at how different it looks. Just make sure to let it drain upside down.
