That's a north facing window, so some light comes in but not direct light. That hook was there when I bought the house, and it's just begging for a small plant to live there..

But I can't imagine what could possibly survive there. Anyone have any ideas? Is it possible? Thanks!

Not calathea’s. Ask me how I know.

I’d be dizzy in the shower every day! Wow that’s quite the tile. Lol

Pothos, Pepperomia, Spider plant… asparagus fern (will grow anywhere) maybe rabbits foot fern…. Boston fern prolly but you’d be cleaning leaves out of your drain every day 🤣

Definitely a pothos! In particular a jade pothos would do well as they don’t need too much light to thrive. Would love the humidity and would be pretty trailing down

Pothos, philodendron heart leaf. Pretty bathroom!!

Pilea depressa in the window maybe, spiderplant, ferns, could also maybe try a monkey mask monstera? (Im very much monstera biased)

I’ve always wanted to try an orchid on a piece of tree bark in the shower.

I’m envious of the windows. I thought these shower windows were basically standard, but I guess not.

A Boston fern would be stunning and would love the humidity. Same for an orchid.

Pothos, philodendron, hoyas (if you don’t care that they wont bloom with he low light), tradescantia, Boston fern, spider plant, fuschsia,

I think a pothos is your safest bet. Darker leaf varieties require less sunlight. It should grow slowly and survive there, just don’t expect it (or anything else) to thrive given the conditions!

I have a variegated trailing string of hearts hanging in my shower and love it.

Lowlight plants like pothos or spider plant,
but rotate them in and out cause nothing will happily live there. They’ll just die slowly over a few years.

  13. We got pothos, snake plant and recently English ivy.

I just can’t see much other than a very low-light fern doing well with a small north-facing window. I’m seeing a lot of recommendations here that are just going to struggle without supplemental lighting.

anthurium and alocasia have been amazing in the bathroom for me, but you probably want grow lights on them too. my warocqueanum put out out a new leaf after about two weeks and they’re notorious for hating change. you can do all sorts of ivy too just be careful they don’t climb walls or grout. everyone in this sub has trouble with calatheas but my rattlesnake calathea in the bathroom (again, with grow lights) is HUGE – and i even water with tap water, it loves it in there.

    also… pothos.

Almost anything from the garden dept. at hobby lobby.

My pathos leaves are turning yellow, help!

I have a bathroom with plants and low light. I have a prayer plant and air plants in there. They weren’t getting enough light so I changed out a lightbulb for a plant light bulb. Works great.

Hopping on the pothos bandwagon. I’ve kept a few in relatively low light. I would just worry about soil falling on me 😂

    Maiden hair fern.

    Or Monstera adasoni.

    Or Devils ivy!

I’d use that ledge space too.  I wouldn’t be able to resist.

Lots of small ones in that window area. Very pretty!

  22. WitchesTeaFlint

Purple Waffle would be good on the ledge. Any kind of fern would work. There’s a smallish one that goes in terrariums and that would work. Is that a ledge on the window?

Omg offtopic but your bathroom is gorgeous
