I bought this Aglaonema Pink Beauty about 1.5 months ago. It’s been healthy and even survived being transplanted into completely new soil. And it flowered!

I watered it very lightly yesterday and saw this morning it had tilted to one side (image 2). I can see new roots forming and the soil isn’t also too wet (image 3). But it has been extremely humid here and I’m wondering if watering it gave it root rot? If someone can help figure out what’s gone wrong overnight I’d be very grateful!

My soil mix is one part each of soil-less potting mix, coco chips, orchid bark, pumice, charcoal and perlite, along with some vermicompost and vermiculite. I try to bottom water once a week but couldn’t do it this week so watered very lightly from the top. The first photo is its permanent spot where it gets plenty of light.

Your Aglaonema actually looks pretty healthy overall, so the tilt might not be a sign that anything’s seriously wrong. Sometimes after watering, the soil can shift just enough to make the plant lean a little, especially if it’s already top-heavy from new growth or the flower stalk. It’s also really common for them to lean toward their light source, even if it looks like they’re getting plenty, so rotating the pot every so often can help balance it out. The humidity could be making the stems a bit softer, too, which might explain why it suddenly drooped. Since you’re seeing new roots and the soil isn’t staying soggy, I don’t think this is root rot. If the flower makes it feel unstable, you can prune it off so the plant puts its energy back into the foliage. Otherwise, staking it gently or just rotating the pot should help it stand more upright again.

Came here to say the same thing about reaching for light, just go and rotate your pot. It will straighten back out. I rotate my pots constantly, even when they are under grow lights, I want to make sure all leafs get a chance to get a good soaking of light.
