This broke off one of my plants during a move. Can it be saved? Do I need to trim anything off the bottom (I’m not entirely sure if I have any nodes and how close it should be to the bottom)? Do I water or soil propagate?
Just stick it in water. Thats it. Put it by a window and wait. It will grow roots. Beyond easy. The only ways to mess this up is by using 7-UP instead of water or letting it dry out.

This looks like peperomia. They prop well. You can cut at nodes and place in water or you can ttake each leaf and cut in half and place cut side in soil or perlite (cover to keep heat and humidity) and get a very full plant.
I would say but off the lower branches & then the top leaves cut in half, dip in rooting powder if you have it but not necessary, put in water or soil, if you put it in soil just keep it moist & bonus points if you have a lid to keep in steam

I think you could have 2 cuttings there. Cut the stem where it forks into 2 stems, take the lowest leaf of of the cutting with the most leaves (the new, 2nd cutting) and pop them into a glass of water, about 2 inches. Try to stand them up kinda straight, no water touching the leaves. You will see new roots starting in about 2-3 weeks. After the roots get to 2 inches long (4-5 weeks), they will be ready to plant into potting soil. Start with a smaller pot. They will grow slowly this winter, but by next spring, they’ll go bonkers! My small pepperonia had scale, I saved 2 small cuttings, threw out the rest. They’re getting new roots now, so I’m a couple weeks ahead of you 🙂
