Rose of sharon, these can be highly invasive.

If you think its cool and would like a very similar native plant look into a Swamp Rose Mallow!

I have a huge old tree of this in my yard. Came with the house and has been cut back many times. It’s a giant round ball of flowers all summer long. The trunk is about 9” across and it’s about 7’ tall and a little wider than 7’ across. Doesn’t seem invasive at all in my yard (Missouri).
