I made this terrarium 7 years ago in Florida. I literally just picked up random plants and soil(notice how sandy it is?-Florida) and threw them in there with a charcoal and large gravel layer. I have opened it up maybe every 3 years to wipe the glass on the inside and add a little bit of water to replace what evaporated while it was opened to clean.

It's so fun to watch it change! I did a big cut this time because the whole back side that faces the window was basically covered and I noticed things were dying. I was just worried I would end up with everything dead if I didn't let some light get to the front.

I guess let me know if I messed up. If you think it would be cooler if I just let it grow into a giant ball of moss I will just leave it in the future.
