I just picked up this set of garden hand tools from Red Pig Tools in Oregon. Got really tired of my run-of-the-mill stuff bending or breaking under normal use, so I decided to invest in something that will last. Totally worth it!
These things are beefy. Seriously built to last and they feel great in my hand. They work great in my rocky northeast soil
I want to start slowly replacing everything with high-quality tools like this. I'd love to support more small US manufacturers like Red Pig Tools.

Rogue Tools/Prohoe is based in Kansas. [https://roguehoe.com/gardening/](https://roguehoe.com/gardening/) get a scuffle hoe and find out what you’ve been missing. they make hand tool versions of many of these.
Those look good. I’ve also been upset with how shitty garden tools have been and was on the lookout for all metal ones. I found some all metal ones at Dollarama of all places and bought one to torture test.
I dug and I pried the hardest soil I could find. Used it as a hammer. Went back and bought like 6 hand shovels and hand rakes. I dont think I can kill them and they should last decades.
Neversink Farm Tools is a good source I like
I like Corona Tools.
Red Pig Tools. Best I’ve found.
These look great! You just gave me an idea. I have a smithing forge and with a little sweat I could make my own bullet proof garden tools.
Excellent topic, will be following.
all you need is a Hori, full tang. get from a japanese brand. Seriously, all that other crap is useless comparatively.
These guys sell a mux of domestic and imported tools.

While I never see it spoken about my cobra head is literally all I carry around (other than my pruners). If I need a hole, I dig a hole. If I need to weed, it does that, if I need to hammer something in with the handle I do that (granted that’s prob not something you should do).
Ban ban tools are the best

I’m from Canada. I’ll never buy as US made anything ever again.
Neversink farms makes some AMAZING tools.
Edit: ha ha ha a lot of people came here to say the same thing
Behrens metalware, made in Minnesota.
Not for tools (afaik), but other homestead items: an excellent fire bucket, planters, extra large and actually heavy duty dust pan, superb watering can, to list a few.
Bully Tools. 100% made in the USA and have a lifetime warranty. Started switching to them when I kept breaking shovels. Haven’t broken one of theirs yet. They only do long handle tools though.
Meadow Creature broadforks are quality. I like my Glaser tools also.
I’m a professional gardener ( 11 years now!) and have a client I work with that has these tools. They indeed are badass. Going to get some for myself!
Get a Cape Cod Weeder. Best hand weeder ever.
I really like my Felco clippers, but Corona is also good. The Felcos are just slightly easier on my hands, which is important during hardwood cutting season. (I have a plant nursery, and I do a lot of propagation by cuttings in January through March.)
I also love my hori hori for divisions, but mine is from Japan, as is my overall apron.
Many of the other tools we use are from my husband’s grandmother. I can’t tell the brand anymore, but they’re still going strong. Occasionally have to replace wooden handles.
My husband likes Stihl chainsaws.
I reluctantly will buy Fiskars tools, because sometimes they’re the most reliable for a certain function, but I do wish they were a bit higher quality.

Amazing sturdy garden tools.
