I cut new growth from a fiddle leaf and began trying to water propagate it about 4-5 weeks ago. I removed the lower leaves on the stem, keeping three at the top. I placed it in a corner of our apartment with lots of natural light and I change the water weekly. It developed these calcifications around week 2 but has not developed roots. What am I doing wrong?

Those look like root primordia.
Not roots, they are calluses, quite normal when propagating woody stems in water. That does not mean it is rooting yet.
I don’t know but those look crazy! Plants surprise me every day

This happened to my money tree! Sat in water for months and no roots just those things. I almost tossed it and out of nowhere tons of roots!!
Yes soon to be roots.
