Already quarantined if they are.

Usually water this plant once a week. It gets decent sun from a south facing window. I noticed it has white spots on the leaves that wipe away from my finger but am not sure it’s spider mites. There’s new leaf growth but the leaves aren’t yellowing along the edges like google says it would with mites.

    I’d say thrip. I don’t see any webbing to indicate spider mite. IMO.

    No, they are ramenta. Small filaments leftover from when the leaf was a baby and these were protecting it from possible pest or physical damage. Completely normal in this species of fern, 100% not pests. If you try to rub them you will see they are attached to the leaf.

    It makes me feel better seeing this post, I was so concerned when I saw these on my birds eye fern, I was in a right panic 😂 she looks healthy! Make sure not to water in the centre 😊
