A Bury St Edmunds gardener has grown a tropical plant to 10ft — a rare sight in the county.
Oliver Crameri brought back seeds of the Echium Pininana from friends in St Agnes, Cornwall, and says the plant has ‘gone crazy’ which has needed repotting four times since April.
Native to the Canary Islands, the plant is found in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly, where it is considered more as a weed.

However, the giant plant is flourishing in Oliver’s garden.
He said: “It’s just gone crazy, but I have two in flower at the moment which means I’ll be able to keep growing my own in Bury.”
