I did plant Missouri evening primrose (you can see creeping out on the driveway), so not sure if there's a relationship there or if this is just random. It's a big girl though! Maybe 5 feet tall.

    Pretty common volunteer, at least up this way. Found on roadsides a lot.

    It’s pretty but it’s a thug. I’d thin it or eliminate if you’re trying to let other less aggressive natives thrive.

    one of these punched up through this awful mat of stiltgrass I’ve been fighting with its huge and I love it. If it can outcompete the invasives I will be a very happy gardener

  6. I have a plant or two growing in the empty lot beside my backyard… I wouldn’t be surprised if next year I find a ton of volunteers… Not sure I want them tbh.
