I managed to split the plant with an axe and have several healthy looking babies to plant (far more than shown here). I'd like to grow some in a couple of 50cm cube pots. Should I just put one plant in each one or could I put a few in to hopefully get a bushier plant sooner?

Plant pot (not filled with compost fully yet).
I’m not an expert on this particular plant, so someone may know better, but as a general rule, you don’t plant a tiny plant on its own in a huge pot and wait for it to grow. This is because watering will be tricky to get right, and also the pot will look empty for a long time. So I would put them in small pots and then pot them on to bigger ones as the roots start to fill each one. If you don’t have any little pots knocking around, any gardener that you know is bound to have loads to spare. Hopefully someone else can advise on how free-draining the potting mix needs to be. Don’t leave them in the air whilst waiting for advice/pots – carefully plant them anywhere that you have space, and water them.
