One of these grows directly on south-facing windowsill, the other is 60cm (24in) away and to the side of the south-facing window.
I did not think this small distance would make such a difference, but the leaves are 2x smaller on the sun-deprived one. Both plants are one year old, same mother plant, same soil, same fertiliser. The lower leaves are from the time they had same light conditions.

Im new to plants, but from what ive learned already, light its the most important element for development of plants.
Basically: not too much water and bright light (with no direct sun!).
I moved my monstera like half a meter to the window and it started growing like crazy + became very dense 🫡 Previously it was sitting behind a monitor, grew only a few new leaves and was pretty leggy
I like this kind of content, damn this is the case study I would love to read about on reddit.
The white one was the less light – correct?
One of my favorite things to do is open my light meter app & see the levels for my plants. Just a couple of inches directly under a grow light is significantly different. And even then, it’s nothing compared to outside.
Thanks for posting this.
