That’s a Gulf Fritillary! My garden is full of them because we have tons of native passionflower (Passiflora incarnata) which is the only plant they are able to lay their eggs on (host plant). We love watching them every year from about May until November.
Mellowbirdie
I have these ALL OVER my yard due to the the yellow passionflower (passiflora lutea) that’s taken over a big portion of the back. The caterpillar they come from is pretty funky looking, too.
