I just moved to Germany and moved into a new house. There’s a tree in the backyard with some delicious smelling fruit that I don’t recognize. Any idea what this is?

Looks like apricots. They’re quite common there. You’ll find many things made with apricots in Germany and Austria. The Melk, Austria monks make a wonderful apricot liqueur with their local fruits. And the best dried apricots I have ever eaten were on my trip to Germany and Austria. Probably more info than you wanted but there you go. 😆

Looks like plum with the smooth skin.

Foliage seems to be along the lines of plum or cherry type plant. Not persimmon

The dark is sviskeblomme in danish and the otter is also a Plum of som sort

  5. I lean towards both are plums. It is end of Mirabelle season, so odds are they are on the ground alreay, so i leans towards a yellow plum like a variety of Reine Claude.

Are they not some sort of damson or gage rather than plum?

Mirabelle plum. You know it’s that because of how delicious it is.

I think they’re plums. There was one of these in my yard growing up
