Wanted to show off my nearly finished lawn. I started with bare dirt just 6 weeks ago, and now its a thriving mix of 70% Kentucky Bluegrass, 25% perenial rye in the sunny parts, and maybe 5% creeping red fescue along the fences.
For those who are trying to get lush grass the best advice I could give would be to keep the soil moist. I planted in the middle of summer when everyones lawn should be dry and dormant. Yet here this one stands lush and green.
This is my first time ever growing a lawn so im really happy with the results. For more seasoned growers, when is the best time to over seed? I wanted to throw down some more Kentucky blue grass seeds come early fall but im wondering if I should hold off until the spring. Any thoughts? Thanks!

Endless water gets dumped into a grass monoculture with almost zero biodiversity ..just to recreate an English lawn where it doesn’t belong. You turn a yellow desert into a green desert. Anyway, I’m overseeding this fall..
Over seeding needs 2 THINGS to thrive
Lite watering and HEAT to germinate.
Weather is a factor only if it’s in the 90’s or higher for days on end or longer like we experienced in my area this year
2 months straight
Btw GREAT JOB
Rip it up and plant food this is useless.
Looks like you need to be putting down preemergent in the spring as you have weeds present. Preemergent also blocks grass seed from germinating so don’t overseed in spring.
