Anyone seen this method before?

  1. I checker-boarded my side yard and after two years it filled in nicely. Saved about $300 that way.

    I’m guessing they didn’t want to pay for all of it so they said “I’ll just get a few and it’ll fill in” haha

    Do you fill it in with seed or just let it spread? You’d have to go nuclear with the weed control until it has a chance to fill in on its own.

  4. Probably Bermuda or centipede grass. Once it established it’ll start off shooting and fill in the yard, probably by next summer. If he fertilize it and water regularly.

  5. Neighbor is planting squares of ‘dead’ sod. If you’re gonna cheap out then might as well YOLO.

    This is also a great way to get a completely uneven lawn.
