Growing herbs in hydro system outdoors. Using masterblend for the first time in my Tower Garden. Some of my cilantro is looking sad, but theres a lot of factors at play here. 1. I transplanted these cilantro from dirt because i couldnt get them to start in rockwool. Ill admit im not using a grow light or heat lamp, just the sun and the warmth of my concrete rooftop. Im in central guatemala. 2. Its been raining heavily and perhaps my solution is being watered down as i have some empty ports on my towers
3. Maybe my blend is off? Reservoir is 20 gallons. So i mixed up 4 tbsp of each powder and 2 tbdp of epsom salt.

Any insight welcome, this is my first time using a different typw of nutrient . Also starting from seed, there was a nursery where i lived that had zeedlings for sale in rockwool. Formerly using the Tower Garden A and B tonics but I cannot get those here. I am also having trouble grtting celery to start from seed.

My hydroponic cilantro always gets red edges and stems at first. First: this isn’t terrible. My cilantro is the same mostly, and still grows, harvests, tastes, and bolts to seed OK.

In my case (indoors): I was not being careful about my source water. I followed directions, but where I live in northern US, the tap water is very high in minerals. So my tap water was already coming out at ~0.7 EC, all the wrong minerals. When adding the amount of nutrients the label says to that, I ended up way too high EC (1.2+), which caused nitrogen burn in the leaves.

Possible something similar is happening either from your source water, or even from rainwater / runoff mixing into your reservoir?

I started filtering my tap water (RO filter, but I have seen people use a house dehumidifier to also get very low ppm, but also very low pH so be careful). After this, my plants all looked much healthier. I never got a final answer myself. But worth checking the source ppm / pH regularly and reservoir as well if rain was mixed in.

Just a few ideas from a cilantro loving hobbyist. Suerte🤞
