I thought she was doing better until I noticed some dried stems and I noticed how bad it is. I dont have luck with propagation methods,, soil propagation= they dry out, water prop= they rot and get slimy, moss propagation = they get moldy. Should I just toss it, cry and avoid buying a new one ?

No its alive .awful big pot but could work .stir the dirt up and lay the strings over the top of the dirt to fill the strings in the center of the pot

IME the dirt cannot be so dense, and from what I see in the pot it looks a bit heavy for their roots; you’re gonna need something with more perlite and orchid bark. After changing the dirt out lay the parts that are hanging out of the pot on top of the dirt being very careful to cover the part where it will root which is usually where ever there pearls are growing from on the strings and keeping it in a very bright indirect light and making sure the light is hitting the top always. Goodluck 💚 🪴

  3. These have very shallow root systems, so you may just be watering the pot like normal and the top of the soil dries out quickly, so they cant reach the water underneath. The soil looks chucky and good though.

Just lay the strings on top of the pot and spray the top of the soil with a spray bottle. Try to keep the top of the soil damp, but not too soggy. Once they catch and start covering the top of the soil again, you can water as normal. Good luck!

No, dont give up! Wrap the pearls around the top. Soak in water from bottom for several hours. Place in sun so that it hits the crown/dirt part of the plant. Be patient. It’ll come back.

PS if you wanna give it .25-.5 of the recommended dose of fertilizer in the water, that won’t hurt!

Among the others I haven’t seen anyone ask what kind of light it’s receiving? They are lovely string plants but they still require a lot of light to the top of the pot, or like one of my favorite plant youtuber it’s gonna become a “bald headed heifer” lol mines in a spot where it gets light on the top and the side of the pot. Hope this helps, happy growing 🪴

Strings of pearls like to stay dry but they still drink a lot. It’s a delicate balance.

I have mine in pon with a tiny bit of cactus soil mixed in. They are in a self watering pot because they drink a bit faster than you might think. I have put extra strings back into the pot until it filled up, and they propped on their own in there.

Your soil mix looks good and gritty, but you may have to keep them a bit more moist to get them to prop.

    Oh and yeah, strong light.
