JOHNSON CITY, N.Y. (WBNG) — Volunteers Improving Neighborhood Environments, or VINES, is inviting Johnson City residents to a community meeting to discuss plans for a new community garden on Floral Avenue.
The new garden will be VINES’ 23rd community garden, and will serve as a community-led space where neighbors can grow food and learn gardening skills.
During the meeting, attendees will get a first look at the garden’s design, featuring raised garden beds, fruit trees, flowering plants and more.
The meeting will take place on Wednesday, Aug. 20, at 5:30 p.m. at 179 Floral Ave in Johnson City.
VINES will break ground on the new garden on Sept. 12, as part of United Way’s Day of Caring.
