Dobbies Garden Centres is hosting the events at it’s Ponteland store this September, with sessions designed for both children and adults, regardless of experience.

The Little Seedlings Club returns on Sunday, September 7, with a session for children aged four to 10.

The workshop, titled Incredible Orchards, will introduce children to the world of orchards, exploring how fruit trees grow, change through the seasons, and support wildlife such as bees and birds.

The session will also include an apple tree craft activity.

For adults, Dobbies is running two Grow How sessions under the theme Mow & Grow, focusing on lawn care and seasonal planting.

These half-hour workshops will be held on Wednesday, September 3, and Saturday, September 6, at 10.30am and 3.30pm.

Nigel Lawton, plant buyer at Dobbies, said: “Autumn is a great time of year in the gardening calendar and our free-to-attend workshops at the Ponteland store showcase just how accessible and fun this hobby is.

“These sessions are designed for gardeners of all ages and abilities.”

The Grow How sessions include a live demonstration, Q&A, and practical tips.
