We inherited a weedy garden space when we bought our first house (I’ll post a photo below in comments). Three years ago we planted our first native plugs from Prairie Moon via the Lawns to Legumes grant in Minnesota. I had a baby that year and it was super neglected the first two summers. I simply let it all compete. This is year 3 in August. Full of insects and birds. It’s brings such joy. I learned a lot from this sub, so thank you all so much.
There’s a lot in this small patch!
Sweet Joe Pye Weed
Pearly everlasting
Butterfly weed
Swamp milkweed
Purple coneflowers

Prairie smoke
Cut Leaf coneflower
New England Aster
Culver’s root
