Upon arrival, police discovered a 35-year-old man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to his neck and torso. Officers, with the help of a bystander who is a trauma doctor, provided medical aid until the Seattle Fire Department (SFD) arrived and took over care.

The victim was transported by SFD to Harborview Medical Center in serious condition with life-threatening injuries.

The suspect fled the scene in a black Mercedes before police arrived. Officers later located the vehicle at 28th Avenue Northwest and Northwest Market Street, where they conducted a high-risk, felony traffic stop. Three people were detained, and the shooter was identified and arrested. A handgun was also recovered.

The suspect was taken to Seattle Police Headquarters for an interview with detectives and is expected to be booked into the King County Jail for investigation of assault.

Police determined that a verbal disturbance preceded the shooting. Authorities are urging anyone with additional information to contact the SPD Violent Crimes Tip Line at 206-233-5000.
