I've had All Gold for over a decade, never known a soft fruit to be so laid back with care and super productive at the same time.
I found the same with yellow tomatoes, birds simply ignore them until the very end of the season when they seem to cotton on.
We've been growing the "Golden Everest" variety for the past 5 years or so. Great autumn raspberry with a decent summer harvest. They do produce a lot of shoots compared to some of my other varieties ๐
Mine are only just coming into flower. Can't wait
I've just made some raspberry vinegar. Makes a salad delicious
These are amazing. First year with a good harvest. I have red, gold and blue.
wears the best place to sores the seeds?
Apparently I grow all my berries for the possums and birds, even my gold raspberries.
I've never had golden raspberries before. As a kid, my neighbor's raspberry patch grew into our yard so we had raspberries for years. We didn't do anything with them, they just came back eveey year. I'm sure there are patterns to that- but we were kids and my mom tolerated it just because we were delighted with it.
I hear you about netting but I'm doing it next year. We had a really good strawberry season but we'd have had a third more if it wasn't for the birds. And the butterflies demolished my kale this year. I'm still pretty angry about that. So we're going to build a couple cloch-style hinged covers for the beds next year.
Iโve been growing All Gold for a few years and they are brilliant. Lovely flavour, and as you say, the birds leave them alone. This year though something has eaten the leaves. I canโt see what it is, must be a tiny caterpillar or something similar.
Still getting a crop on some canes though.
Got our fall gold Raspberry cane a few weeks ago. ๐
3 years? so this is your first real harvest..
My favourite raspberry. They taste better than my red ones. Unfortunately, they make for an ugly jam, and the stinkbugs are a problem, but I will keep growing them anyway. I don't know the variety of mine, it produces in summer and fall as well, but stays short.
I have a few plants.โค
Ive been growing all gold for about 5 years and I rarely get any, the birds have the lot.
I love Rugosa roses
..because fruit will give me a fatty liver disease. Fruit and veg are not part of our ancestral diet and are HIGHLY contra-indicated for human consumption. Since I stopped eating what my food eats I feel like Superman.
For me, they are much better than the pink ones. Here in Portugal, they came before the pink ones and the bate fruits twice a year

I've had issues getting any raspberry to thrive in my climate. I tried a gold one and it struggled in the heat till it died. Maybe I need a different approach to grow raspberries.
These are the best. I alsow grow orange veriety and black ones. I personely think the yellow is the sweetest. Like yellow plums they are alsow mutch sweeter than red varieties. And these yellow raspberry's produce twise a season. Have you ever tried the yellow wonder strawberry? These are amazing!! These are wild forrest strawberries, super sweet like candy and they produce until the first frost
I've never ever seen yellow rasberrys in my life, not i shops, not in gardens not even on TV..
I have grown magenta Doreen for three years now it grows around 6ft here . I love it so much amazing plant ๐โค๏ธ
Yellow raspberries where one of my first berry bushes. Love them so much
I LOVE mine! They are so incredibly sweet and the birds ignore them because they aren't red. However, my Labradors are not deterred. ๐
they don't taste as normal raspberries! they taste way better! (in my opinion ๐
Best ๐๐๐….๐
Glitter Spinach is commonly known as goosefoot it grows wild all over world but its very nutritious ๐
yeah but your garden still does not have a blue raspberry ๐
I would like to grow black raspberry too
I planted the Gold raspberries this year and they are just wonderful! I did not know about trimming all the shoots after they are done producing. Even better!! And I also enjoyed your video on glitter spinach. It is absolutely a beautiful plant. I pluck and snack on the small leaves while I am up and about the garden. Thank you very much for doing videos on these plants!
Our Golden Raspberries are much sweeter than our red variety, without any sourness. Our favorite variety for sure.
Gold raspberries are just salmon berries. Its like the diet coke of berries
When I was a kid a looong time ago in the north of england, they grew wild. In that same wild place, there were green raspberries too. They were green even when they ripe. So much seems to have been lost.
And the foliage from raspberries is used as tea for all sorts of things for women (most women drink it during pregnancy and postpartum). My friend does also โherbal jointsโ with raspberry leaves ๐
Golden raspberries are my favorite, unfortunately my dogs love them as well ๐คฆ๐ปโโ๏ธ๐
Thank you, Huw, for another GREAT video! โค ๐ฅ๐ฅฆ๐ซ๐๐ถ๐ ๐ฅฆ๐ฅ๐ซ๐๐ซ๐ซ๐๐ฅฌ๐ฅ๐ซ๐๐ง๐๐ซ
I started growing fall gold raspberries several years ago and they are my favorite. I find them to be so much sweeter and without the tartness as red varieties. Mine crop twice a season.
All gold and tullamen fruiting now yellow raspberries!
Love our ANNE raspberries here in Canada. They are SO SO GOOD and create so much fruit!
I can't stand the taste. Too sharp for me.
I grow โDouble Goldโ raspberries. They have a summer crop and a fall crop. They are very prolific and have excellent flavor.
Yellow raspberries are more sweet and less tart than red raspberries IMO. They are delicious!
I love raz breeze
Iโve been growing All Gold in the Seattle USA area for almost 8 years. Theyโre super easy to grow and contain, and they taste delicious. Never had any issues. ๐
I have had them for 2 years they taste โค
Allegedly the reason why birds avoid it is because they think yellow = unripe. Goes for figs too.
My family grew gold raspberries commercially in New Zealand for almost 30 years with a patent on a variety that just happened to throw when dad planted the red raspberries. They were propagated and grew them commercially in Chile, Argentina and the USA for 15 odd years. Was known as Kiwigold. Was an autumn raspberry and went almost apricot coloured when they became fully ripe. Never were overly commercially viable unfortunately. We could never sell them for the value we could the reds often 20-30% less. Mostly because they didnโt have the colour associated with raspberries, which hampered restaurant use, and also they were often sweeter, and a little less tart than the reds. I loved them, and we still grow them.
We planted them for the first time last year, prolific fruiters and delicious. They also lasted well into autumn!
I grow them whenever I can source them(continually increasing stocks!). The flavour is spectacular, so sweet. Very easy to grow here in Tasmania.
I planted a couple of black raspberries last year, what a massive dissapointment, will actually be digging them up and onto the compost at the end of the suumer.
