I’m sorry I cannot answer you but I am curious to see what happens. I am battling my own little air plant that always has gray leaves even after soaking. So I’m at a loss.

I couldn’t say if it’s dying or not (I’d assume so, tbh, based on how far down and extensively it’s dried out), but I live somewhere reasonably humid and I need to mist at least daily. I usually mist when I wake up, before bed, and if I’m home I’ll mist them when I pass by them- and then a 20-minute soak once or twice a month.
I used to just mist once a day, but once I started misting more than that they finally started growing instead of just not dying. I would be very hesitant to skip more than a day of misting.
Even if the outside doesn’t make it, maybe some of those inner bits are healthy enough to bounce back?
