Result of throwing some wildflower seeds in the 5cm strip of soil between tarmac and fence!

  1. I’ve got the same strip, but I’m year 1 into establishing grapes. Think I might do this next year. Just need to see if resource competition will significantly slow grape growth

Looks like we bought the same mix. Last autumn i collected the seed heads and stored them in a paper envelope. Chucked it all back on the soil in late spring and have the same this year too

What was the brand and type you used. I chucked like a kg of wildflower seeds around the garden and nothing. It was unprepared soil though to be fair

Looks amazing! What do you have to do to prepare? I have a strip of lawn at the back that I want for wildflowers

What seed mix was it? I won’t tell anyone else 😉

Its lovely! Id like to know the mix too, I’ve used two different wild flower packs and only get borage…

Wow! Where did you get the seeds from? I’ve brought a few and nothing ever comes up.

  8. Get in… keep up the good work, go forth and broadcast seed

  9. Amazing but a little upsetting 😩 I planted 60 wildflower plugs, 2 have survived 😩

Beautiful! It’s so neat how the littlest of things can have such impact.

For everyone asking this is the mix I used, was a gift though so can’t comment on it’s current availability, hardly used any though so will try again next year.

I’d definitely advice people to spread thinner than you would think so the plants have plenty of room to grow, and be patient, I didn’t have much happen for ages then all of a sudden had a boom this last 4 weeks or so.

Looking really good and I’m sure the pollinators are grateful for it!

I’ve tried this on multiple occasions… but my neighbour keeps clearing it just when the plants start flowering.. because barren concrete must look tidier.😐

You watch! Some busy body will come and spray weed killer on them!
