It’s hot, it’s humid and the Garden State Parkway is starting to back up up with drivers heading back north from the beaches and boardwalks.

In other words, it’s a pretty standard Sunday in August for the Jersey Shore.

Here’s the latest traffic updates for Shore motorists on Sunday, Aug. 17, 2025:

A crash in the local lanes on the northbound Garden State Parkway has blocked the left lane just south of Exit 105 in Tinton Falls, according to 511nj.org.

Other northbound delays have continued, including a two-mile delay north of Exit 98 to the Judy Blume Service Area and a two mile delay between Exit 89-A and Exit 90.

Additionally, 511nj.org reported a 2.5-mile delay on the southbound Garden State Parkway from Exit 117 to Exit 116.

Northbound motorists face pockets of delays on the Garden State Parkway on Sunday afternoon.

According to 511nj.org, there’s a four-mile delay between Exit 89-A in Toms River and Exit 90 in Brick due to volume. Another two-mile delay was reported in Wall, north of Exit 98.

Route 35 is also facing delays at the Manasquan River Bridge, where a fuel spill has blocked one of two lanes and the right shoulder.
