Recently gifted this plant. Usually a plant free household ☹️ because our cat is creative with adventures that have high potential for harm. Plant is currently on a shelf 8 feet off the ground but don’t put anything past our adventure muffin. Given he’s already jumped on a toaster oven this week (how dare I withhold cheesy toast)… just trying to cover our bases.

Yes it’s a draceana. The problem is it’s just the sort of plant your cats will want to chew. I have to put these practically up my ass or move them to my office because my cats who normally don’t bother plants love to chew this one and puke it up on my rugs

While I’m at it… if you had a cat hell bent on DANGER… what plants would you have in your house?

Dracaena, which is not cat safe. Spider plant and Boston fern are the only cat safe houseplants I have that have also been able to survive my cat. I was gifted a Christmas cactus but I am sure it will be murdered when I have to bring it in for the winter.

  4. Your cat wants grass, get them some grass.  Grow some outside and bring them outside to eat grass every day.  If they have this they will have zero interest in house plants.
