Previously on the backyard build. Today we stay in defense. This is going to suck. I will watch you suffer. Please. Okay, that’s good. No freaking way. I found a key. Paper day. Paper day. This is our flag stone. This is our wallpaper. Beautiful natural stone steps. Can I tell them we’re doing a herring bone? Now, what does herring bone look like again? If you’re enjoying this, you like, comment, and subscribe to see more of me sweating. Right. You are then [Music] [Music] I could do this all day long. It’s fun, eh? And we probably will. [Music] [Music] Oh no. Oh no. The bird got him. No. Are you okay? Ay, leave him. I leave him. The poor thing. Oh, 100. He got away. A squirrel just fell out of the tree. Oh no. Welcome to episode five of the backyard build. Yeah, that bird knocked him right out. He did. Hey, that’s it. Poor thing. Those will all get cut there. Clipped in. Does it is it big enough for you? This is the test to see if we bung this right up. This should be perfectly level. This is way low here. Now it’s solid. And it’s level. Some of the pavers just like See, this one’s sitting a little bit higher. Yeah. So, Oh, yeah. Wow. This is way better than the other one. You think? Yeah. It’s like a solid one. Okay. So, we have a lot on our to-do list today and we’re going to take you along and we’re going to show you and we’re going to do the same thing every week. Next order of business. We need one of those massive steps here. If we have it sit there in front of these, right? So, we just got to dig a little more of this out. And we got to bring this up the height of the pavers and pack it. So the step bottom of the step is the top of the pa. [Music] These things will be heavier than the armor stone. Oh yeah. [Music] [Music] So yeah, the next interlock is going to go from there to about like three and a half up there. So, I just want to check something. So, that’ll be perfect. Mhm. Oh, that’s really pretty. Yeah. And then when these get cut, this will be flush here. Like down here, though, obviously. Yes. But it’ll be flush on the outside edge. And that’ll be pretty close. But we’re leaving cuz that’s going to sit like that enough to just put a little bit of like river rock for drainage. It’s nice that it stays kind of tight there because then it retains the stuff from falling out underneath. This was the most nervous part is the step and it’s sloped this way and it’s level this way. So, we’re good. [Music] Start another one right there. Here [Music] guys, get out of here. [Music] Yeah, jump is right there. That’s perfect, guys. Yeah, get it. Perfection. [Music] [Music] Why aren’t we using the tractor? You can’t drive it down here. But you could drive it to there. This is a lot of gravel. I didn’t think of it. Like, we can do that if you want. Let’s do that. Work smarter, not harder. [Music] Did I get some? [Music] I’ve actually never done this before. I just didn’t want to ask for help. [Music] That’s all I got. Where’d all the grass come from? I think I drove with the bucket down. You drove with the bucket? Oh, I definitely drove with the bucket down. That explains why there felt like there was a little bit of tension. Yeah. Okay, start it up. [Music] Tilt the bucket. Tilt it. Tilt it back. Stop. Drive in and tilt back. And then lift up. [Music] Tilt it. Lift up. Okay. Now, so that it doesn’t all spill out. See how it’s all falling back? You go like that and then it all goes to the back of the bucket. Good job. Thank you, baby. Now, hurry up. Easy, [Music] wasn’t it? So easy. You know what we should do in this video? What? because it’s going to be a lot of like repetitive stuff. We should answer Q&A. I’ll get people to submit their burning questions. True. On Instagram and maybe we’ll answer everybody’s questions. It’s a good idea. All right, let’s lay some pavers. Handy Andy’s already started with the pavers. Yes, indeed. Oh, shoot. Are we going to drone this? You want to drone this? Um, is that okay? Yeah, babe. So, what do you want me to do here? Just cheer me on. Do you want something for your niece? No, I’m good. I’ll get you something. Look what I found you, babe. This is something special for me. For your sweet little niece. A for me. [Music] You know what? But we’ll do drone footage of this. Yeah. Yeah. Because why not, right? Okay. Cue the drone footage. [Music] What happened? Daddy long legs. Oh boy. We have to level this area for the step. [Music] If you could get it on the tractor and then put it on something with wheels, we could wheel it down. And then what? I don’t know. Cuz we can’t physically lift it. I can’t even budge it. Okay. I’m going to have to just try and drive down. That’s all. What are you going to drive on, though? This. You’ll fit. And you’ll have to watch my No, it’s not. I don’t think it’s going to fit with the box scraper on the back. [Music] cuz it’s when I go down it’s going to hit these. [Music] [Music] Okay, hold it. Bring it down. [Music] Okay, I got all these pavers set up for success because it’s easiest to do this if you’ve already got the pavers. Almost there. [Music] [Music] Never leave the forks in the air like that. That’s how you get fired. Yesterday I drove with the whole bucket down. So, let me show you what we’ve done here. This section was finished off camera. Oh, okay. And now we’re working on the next section. Got all the pavers laid out here. Obviously, you guys just watched to get that step in. These deer flies are crazy. They’re all over you. I do want to share that also off camera, I found another child’s shoe, the sole of a shoe. If you guys remember when we were doing the waterfall in the front yard, I found a very similar shoe. Oh my god, it’s a little kid’s shoe. That’s crazy. That’s creepy. And now I have this one, too. I’ll show what Nothing. What did you say? Nothing. Cheese? No. Like the plural of shoe? No. your divorce dad music. Yeah. So, I have a proposition. No. Oh. [Music] [Music] Almost there. I’m only off by about an inch and a half. I don’t know why every every one I’ve done that I’ve curved to the right. That’s what she said. [Music] Aki. Aki, watch your bum. Come here. [Music] I feel like that’s better. [Music] You stay over there, boy. Go pee on the tractor. Go. No. Stop. Okay. Okay. Come on. Let’s go place. Get up there. Good job, buddy. Right where you belong. Facing the wrong way. What a goof. [Music] This is the tricky part because as soon as you start it like runs off right away. So, I got to lay a bunch and then adjust them. Like, it looks like it’s already pulling to the right. [Music] That looks good. That’s like right on them, eh? Mhm. Last time it didn’t fit. I had to readjust it all cuz I don’t know if I’m getting these steps perfectly straight either. That’s the thing, too. Yeah. It’s such a It’s a natural stone. They cut it, but it’s not like perfectly straight like Yeah. See, this looks okay. Looks really good. Cue the drone footage. [Music] You smell good. Pardon? You smell good. I’m soaked in sweat. Well, it smells nice. That’s wonderful. [Music] This one stayed like perfectly straight. Good job, babe. Up there. Yeah, that’s it. Good job, baby. So, yeah, we’ll cut this. It’ll go there. That’ll go there. That’ll go there. And then we’ll put the border on around it. Just like that. Just like that. Are you okay? Yeah. I was just like seized up and there’s sweat running down my knees. Look how wet they are. Yum. Yeah, that one stayed nice and straight. So, now we just have an hour of cutting cuz we’re going to cut this whole side, these triangles off and they’re going to get put over here and then border stones down both sides. And same as up here, I’m going to cut these off and then wait, no, I need to go like that still and then cut these off. Yeah, I thought I was done. Just give me one sec. Three pieces. Okay. Mhm. Because we’re going to cut it there. Okay. To keep it nice and close to the driveway. Yeah. So, that’ll get cut and put there. And then these are going to be the onyx ones that are just run like this, right? And they’re going to come and go like this. Okay. Are you ready? What? What are you wearing? I can’t find my glasses. What about a face mask? I don’t have one. This will work. They It looks dark, but it’s just tinted. Like I could see everything. It’s a snorkel mask for everybody wondering. Yeah, but I think it might work perfect because then nothing will get up underneath it either. Okay. Well, don’t mouth breathe. Why? Then you’re going to like inhale it all. Oh, yeah. That’s I need a mask, too. I don’t know how I’m supposed to wear everything, though. So, you know, we’re going to snap a line, right? Why don’t I go get you some safety glasses? So, you can wear them at the same time as that. Sure. We got to snap some lines. Okay. I’m going to pull tight. Okay, babe. You’re good. Ready? You’re right through the corner. Yeah, babe. We’ll do this and then we’ll we’ll mark the next one after because if it gets covered in dust, I won’t see it. So, I’ll I’m just going to stand back. Yes. Perfect. I hate this part. I was dreading this part actually. I know. I cut all that these pieces all however many 40 or 50 of them. And then the cut off triangle went on this side as you can see. And then I cut pieces to fit in there cuz the border is going to go around. I still have to cut a little triangle for here and I’ll need one for that side. I also cut the pieces for there. That’s a lot of cuts. It’s not perfect, but like this one could have been a little bit better, but it’s okay. So, I have to start putting these back in. But I’m going to put some more of the bedding because I need to bring it out further to put the border on. And then I need to put some more in there and just kind of smooth it as well. What can I do? Um, I can run pavers, too. Oh, yeah. Yeah, if you want if you want me to run the border even just bring it over. You’ll need to put them some in the wheelbarrow probably. I don’t think you’ll Okay, cuz the tractor can’t pick it up. [Music] All right, let’s go. [Music] I guess we can start with the border. What I learned from the front is what you want to do Mhm. is you want to have a little extra so it’s higher. So you pound them in because the edge is the most susceptible spot to sink. [Music] So yeah, they’re going to sit like that. Okay. Oh, okay. Cool, babe. Oh my gosh, that finishes it so well. Oh yeah, it needed it. Do you remember how nervous we were about putting a border on the front because it looked good without it? I cut out like 30 minutes of us just like standing there staring at it wondering if we should do it or not. Are you thinking no border? Like is that what you’re feeling? [Music] I don’t know. [Music] [Music] [Music] Looks so good, babe. Mhm. [Music] Wow. [Music] Oh my goodness. I got to make one, three cuts and then this area is pretty well done. Next week on the backyard build. It’s the third and final day of working on this area. Feeling good. How long each day do you work on the house? A lot of people want to know what we’re going to do when we’re all done with everything when we run out of projects. Somebody asked if we ever have received a noise complaint. It’s actually kind of funny to be honest. Everybody wants to know how do we afford these projects. Are you ready for this? I guess. Hopefully we didn’t mess it up. It looks horrible. I’m trying not to panic. [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause]

Akkie on the tracker looked like he was in timeout
I just need a clip of Andrew running in each video or a montage dedicated to his random little runs, for some reason it cracks me up 😂 & I can’t explain why.
My favorite perfectionist. Sabrina so wonderful, pups such ❤️
So you guys have harsh winter. The frost won’t damage all that hard work?
This courtyard will be your haven of peace, you won't want to leave it. Not even to travel elsewhere.🎉 Congratulations. Everything is perfectly magnificent and well thought out.🎉🎉
15:26 lol😂😂😂
The amount of patience you all have to do that is insane! I don’t know how I thought that stuff happens but never imagined each stone was hand done…wow, you guys rock!
😂 – Shades of "Notting Hill!"
Whooo Wheee…so much patience Don't know if I could do!😂😛 CONGRATULATIONS 🎉🎉🎉
“Did I get some?” 😂😂
"You smell good babe" "I'm covered in sweat." 😅 That is true love right there.
I look forward to your videos every Sunday. Months ago, my husband briefly watched one of your videos for a few minutes and asked me what I find so amazing. I told him EVERYTHING! 😂 He's just jealous he has no idea how to do a lick of what you two do lol It really is so unreal the level of skill you both have at a young age. 🩷
The snorkel mask 😂❤ you two are so fabulous ❤
Digging the music choices this week! Not only are you guys busting your butts building your home (in a freakin Ontario heatwave at that like what the heck) but then the editing must also take so long. You guys are inspiring! Hardest workers on YouTube 👍🏼🥵
❤
I am so very impressed with both of you. You work very well together and think out each other’s ideas.💡 I hope you keep up with more videos because I don’t know what I will do without watching you on Sundays. Will the dogs go into the pool? Or you have to say it is okay to go in? My golden retriever loves the pool and he will jump in and out all the time only when we are outside with him. I can’t wait to see everything when you are done. The pond is going to be Amazing. Question does Canada get high humidity or is it just get High temps🥵? Thank you for sharing and explaining everything you do for each project. ❤❤
Hey Sabrina & Andrew! Wondering what saw and blade you used to cut the pavers. Also am curious as to how the pavers stayed in place whilst cutting. I have a similar pathway I'm doing, but am apprehensive on the cuts because of the pavers potentially moving.
Andrew's "OH BOY" nonchalant comment about the daddy long legs cracked me up!🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Looks great …. Take care of them knees buddy , get some knee pads . Don’t want to feel the pain when u get older . 😂😂😂
Curious if you've ever cover the fine detail such as what and how much for base layer for under stone?
I just got back home from helping my daughter and got on YouTube and WOW!!!!! Pavers are looking amazing❤❤❤❤. Teamwork makes the dream work
Excited for next week!
Need knee pads that hook on (one that done make you sweat more).
Another great video!! I love you guys!!
The pups are the best scene stealers 🤣
not me expecting an ad right after sabrina says andrew smells good even after all the sweat 😂
"I might have driven with the bucket down". LOL – might have? Sabrina you are my hero!
Sabrina, girl! You know I love you. Well you probably don’t but I do. But the music in this episode was horrible! Also you guys are amazing 😘
🤭😘🥰
Such hard work and it’s looking so good!
7:05 Sorry but I have to do this "WOMAN ☕"
you guys need a Gorilla Cart! Way better then wheel barrels.
Quick question to you two: are you planning on staying at your house? As a long time viewer I have come to love the house aswell, but I always remember Sabrina saying that it doesn’t feel ideal? It that still the case or are you staying? Idk I kinda can’t stop thinking about it because again I LOVE what you guys have done. I know it’s a personal question so I am okay with it being left unanswered 😅
Seriously, without that pad for his knees, they’d have been so wrecked! Glad you got it even though he initially said no. Love wins!
You two remind me of my husband and I when we were young. Hard working, in love, funny, and enjoying life.❤❤❤
Divorced dad music! I resemble that remark! LOL
