It’s a type of Begonia maculata. If it is really pink it might be rare? If it is only that pink in the photo then idk.

A polka dot begonia?

I think I saw an article about that plant being the most expensive house plant in the world due to scarcity.

Begonia maculata variegata

If you pay 800 bucks for that thing you are mental and need help asap

I got one at a historical society plant swap. Angel wing begonia. Mine is a beautiful maroon and getting huge. Leaves are almost as big as my head. This is much pinker. Maybe the color is rare? Price seems silly to me

That’s a pink variegated begonia maculata. As crazy as it seems, $800 is actually decently priced for that based of current market. I’m just the messenger.

Looks like an angel wing begonia. My favorite house plant; the pink variety is pretty too, but the other kind is just as gorgeous IMO

Literally bought one at walmart 2 years ago, def not rare or anything. Think it was called leopard begonia.

Begonia and It definitely shouldn’t have been 800$… I got mine from work for free

The rare houseplant market can be pretty egregious with this stuff when it first comes out, especially hardcore collectors, just like with any hobby with low supply and high demand. Then Home Depot sells it for 30 bucks five years later

Einstein begonia maybe?
Story time: When Einstein was working in Institute of Advance Study in Princeton he had this kind of Begonia in his office which was his favorite from what Ive heard. After his death his assistant gave away something around 50 cuttings to other physicists and friends.
Cuttings descended are still present. There is one in Einstein Museum.

Im confused, I have this plant from a cutting. Is it actually like rare and expensive ??
