Purslane. All weeds are plants. It’s in the portulaca family. Is a weed if you don’t want it there…but I think most folks treat it like as a weed.

If you’re in the PNW do not let this thing go to seed. You’ll never get rid of it. Worst weed I’ve ever dealt with. Give me thistles any day

  3. People keep telling me that purslane is edible.
You would want to be really hungry!

It’s purslane, which you can eat if it’s not growing in a bed of pesticides. Nice lemony flavor

It is a Portulaca Olercea it’s common purslane a.k.a., pinks, cacti and allies and is a weed.

Great weed in that it is roundup resistant but has a very light flavor and texture. Asians use it as a salad, I have used it as an ingredient in sushi rolls.

Such a pest, I am in constant weed control with is invasive non-native plant…hate-love relationship!

It’s purslane and I personally like it so I let it grow. My parrots absolutely love it, and it gets pretty yellow flowers. It grows nicely between pavers or rocks.

Regularly eaten in Latin America, where it is called Verdolagas.
