I just got this beauty in today and am very excited. What's the best way to get this to root and grow? Already planning on doing an 80/20 of inorganic to organic soil. Any and all care tips and tricks appreciated.
It depends on what type of “microclimate” you have for your plants, but in my experience these guys are pretty darn forgiving. I’ve grown them in 80/20 pumice/garden soil and they’ve done fine but were very slow unless I fertilized constantly. I usually use a 50/50 mix now, and quite coarse, and I still fertilize with a half strength dose of fertilizer every week. I have a small greenhouse, so my plants aren’t getting blasted by actual full sun, it shines through poly panels. My friend on the other hand, grows his in full blasting southern California sun, and his soil is extremely dense/fine compared to mine, and amazingly all of his euphorbias are absolutely thriving. With how coarse and free-draining my soil is, I could water daily in the heat of summer if I felt so inclined. Seeing how well my friend’s plants are doing in such a fine soil is really interesting though. Sorry this got a bit ranty, I just wanted to share some real world experiences.

Cactus soil and horticultural pumice and a terra cotta pot. Plant in soil to green line, top dress to red line. Don’t water for 2 weeks.
