The winners of Wight in Bloom 2025 were announced on July 18 at the Isle of Wight Steam Railway.

The competition, organised by Visit Isle of Wight, saw One Holyrood Hotel, Farringford Gardens, St George’s School and Bucklers View in Gurnard all win awards for their gardens.

St George’s School won best young people initiative.

Their teacher, Kat Montagu, said: “The kids have absolutely loved it.

“It’s changed an area that was quite dull and not used into an area that is used really frequently now.”

One Holyrood won best commercial garden, while Farringford took home best small tourist attraction.

Bucklers View won best care giving complex garden.

The event, sponsored by the Island Line, was themed around ‘Railway 200, to commemorate the anniversary of the birth of the modern railway.

This year, entrants are being asked to incorporate the ‘Railway 200’ theme into their gardens, echoing the anniversary of the birth of the modern railway.

Winners received certificates made from terracotta roof tiles and a slice of track from the Isle of Wight Steam Railway.
