Looks like grape vines trained on wires between the houses. Looks fantastic and I’m sure the shade is very welcome.

Welp, I’m moving to Spain now.

Impossible to see the leaves, but the trunk is certainly vine (often this form of cultivation is for table grapes).

White Grape Vines, Palomino, moscatel or pedro ximenis most likely.

Palomino grave vines probably. Lordie I loved Jerez. The whole town is like stepping back to the 1100’s

  7. The pinhole shadows are awesome. That street would look crazy during an eclipse

The spots on the ground are so round because the holes in the foliage act as pinhole cameras, and it projects an image of the sun onto the ground. You can use this method to safely watch eclipses.

  9. I wonder how many years this took!! Beautiful!!

Just curious what the roots structure is like. It seems like the roots would push up the walkway area but it does not look disrupted. Also would the roots cause an issue next to the house foundation.

I would love to do this over a patio area but worried about have to fix the paver blocks every few years.
