Welcome to the ‘Backyard Oasis’
Colorful potted blooms, burbling water and pavers form the foundation for this garden from Andrea Cooper of Brownstown Township. Her Homestyle Garden Photo Contest entry, “Backyard Oasis,” features “flowers galore with the calming sound of the fountain’s water spilling from layer to layer,” she writes. Cooper will receive a home or garden book and her Homestyle Garden Photo Contest entry will compete for the grand prize — a $200 gift certificate to English Gardens — through online voting by Homestyle readers in early September. The grand-prize winner will be announced in September. For entry instructions and rules, go to detroitnews.com/gardenphotos25. Entries for the first round of the contest are due by noon Monday, Aug. 18. Don’t forget to add in your picture before it’s too late!
